Fresh Beginnings

As each New Year begins, it provides an opportunity for each of us to reflect and consider how to be intentional with our time in the coming year.  Now that the year is underway, let’s move beyond temporary “new year’s resolutions” and focus on eternal perspectives. For you this may mean to stand strong on God’s promises, or to embrace opportunities to fellowship with other believers. Perhaps it means to intentionally strengthen your walk with the Lord, or maybe God is nudging you in another direction. As you seek what He has for you, be encouraged by the Apostle Paul’s writing in Ephesians 3: 16-17, “I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through His Spirit.  Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him.  Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.” He loves you with an everlasting love … keep your eyes on Him each and every day!

All of us in Women’s Ministry look forward to coming alongside you this year as you consider opportunities to learn more about God, fellowship with one another and/or meet new friends.

We are grateful for the hundreds of women who attended our Christmas event, as well as those who are participating in our Women’s Bible Studies. Space is still available in the winter session of bible studies; ladies are welcome to join in study of scripture, personal growth and fellowship. A wide variety of classes meet mornings and evenings, at Cornerstone and in homes throughout our community.  Please contact Penny Brush (562) 822-9093 or Belinda Burton (562) 343-3187 to find the right class for YOU!

Our Circle of Friends ministry – designed to nurture, support and encourage widows – meet on a monthly basis to provide a special time of fellowship. The next meeting will be on Monday, February 26 with Tony and Pam Laudate as the featured speakers. The topic will focus on healthy eating, including how to prepare delicious (& healthy) meals. For more information, please visit the Women’s Ministry table.

We are also pleased to offer an upcoming Connecting Women event, Celebrate on Friday, March 2 at 6:30 p.m. at Cornerstone Church. Connecting Women events are designed to encourage women of all ages and seasons of life. This promises to be an evening of inspiration as we “Celebrate” all the Lord has done for each of us. Dinner and dessert will be served. Childcare for children in 5th grade and under is available with a reservation.

Sign-ups for this Connecting Women event will begin on Saturday, February 3 at the Women’s Ministry table. The event cost is $10.00 per person; scholarships are available. Please contact Tammy Tatreau at TLTatreau@hotmail.com with any questions.

Our Cornerstone Church’s Women’s Ministry team is committed to encouraging women of all ages to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ. We look forward to seeing you soon!
